Bollywood star Deepika Padukone has once again found herself in the spotlight — this time for a new Abu Dhabi tourism ad featuring her husband Ranveer Singh. The promotional video, aimed at showcasing the emirate’s stunning landmarks and rich heritage, features Deepika donning a traditional abaya and headscarf while visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the region’s most iconic religious sites.

While many praised the actress for her grace and cultural sensitivity, a section of social media users began trolling her, questioning her “feminist attitude” and calling the gesture contradictory.

In response, Deepika’s supporters were quick to counter the criticism, sharing pictures of her visiting Indian temples in traditional attire, emphasizing that the actress has always respected diverse cultures and religious sentiments wherever she goes.

Meanwhile, Deepika also made headlines for her exit from two major Prabhas-starrer films — Kalki 2 and Spirit. Reports suggest that her exit stemmed from extensive work conditions and remuneration demands, which included limited eight-hour work shifts, a large personal staff, five-star arrangements for her team, and a premium fee.

Having recently embraced motherhood, Deepika is now making a powerful comeback. She has already signed on for Allu Arjun and Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi project and has also begun filming for Shah Rukh Khan’s King.
