Portuguese and Juventus soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person in the world to reach 300 million followers on Instagram. He was also the first person to reach 200 million followers on the social media platform last year.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is the second most followed person on Instagram after the Portuguese captain with 246 million followers. It has also been reported that Ronaldo charges Rs. 6,57,95,334 for one Instagram post for promoting various brands on his handle. The soccer star has approximately earned over $50 million (Rs. 3,70,72,05,000) by promotions on Instagram between March 2019 and March 2020. Ronaldo is also followed by 92 million users on Twitter and 148 million users on Facebook.

Among celebrities in India, Virat Kohli is the most followed person on Instagram with over 128 million followers. Earlier this week, Ronaldo scored his 10th and 11th goals in Portugal's opening Euro 2020 match against Hungary, thus becoming the all-time top scorer in the tournament, overtaking France's Michel Platini.
