‘Deiva Thirumagal’ that has AL Vijay as the captain of ship, stars Chiyaan Vikram, Anushka Shetty and Amala Paul essaying lead roles, whereas, the music is tuned in by GV Prakash Kumar.
Vikram plays Krishna who suffers with the mental maturity of a five year old. The movie portrays an emotional tug of war between Amala Paul and Vikram, for their daughter, played by Sara. Anushka Shetty dons the role of a lawyer who fights for justice to our protagonist.
Vikram got in so deep with the character of Krishna, the character he plays, that it took a toll on him. It would take forever for Vikram to get back to his normal self after shoot. And there were occasions of him subconsciously talking to others as the character, Krishna, even on a normal basis.
?Deiva Thirumagal? involved intense homework for Vikram. He researched and visited institutions for two months for this. He would spend hours in Pathway (an institution for the challenged) and with the patients who suffer from the border-line mental disorder.
