Tamil cinema is continuing to lose its gems in the past few months including SPB, Vivek, Thamira and K.V, Anand among others. This morning veteran comedy actor cum singer TKS Natarajan passed away due to an age-related illness. He was 87.
Natarajan acted in several stage plays of the legendary T.K. Shanmugham and that's how the initials got attached to him. He made his big-screen debut in 'Ratha Paasam' released in the year 1954 and since then has acted in over 500 films in mostly comedic and character roles.
Natarajan who was also a folk singer sang the song "Ennadi Muniyamma Un Kannula Mai" for Shankar Ganesh's music in the 1984 movie 'Vaanga Maappila Vaanga" which was a super hit along the lines of "Surangani'. For the next few decades rarely a day went by without the song being played on any one of the Tamil radio stations around the world
TKS Natarjan acted with almost all the top stars of Tamil cinema including Sivaji Ganesan Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. The Kollywood fraternity is mourning his death and is expressing it on social media. RIP! Unsung legend.
