As a big boost to the cinema theater business the Central Government of India has given the go ahead to allow hundred percent seat occupancy in the halls from tomorrow February 1st. The film industry is one of the worst hit sectors throughout the world due the coronavirus pandemic which forced shutdown for eight months.
The government then allowed theaters to function with 50 percent occupancy from November 14th Diwali but footfalls were pretty low. The grand Pongal release 'Master' powered by the towering performances of Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi brought the crowds back and the film made extraordinary business even with the half entries.
Both theater owners and the others from the film fraternity have welcomed the move and many films that were stuck in the cans will begin wide releases from the first February weekend hopefully.
