Defending Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are facing yet another blow as England all-rounder Moeen Ali suffered an ankle injury during a training session ahead of CSK’s match against Punjab Kings on Monday.
Even though it is unclear if the English all-rounder will be ruled out of the tournament, he is likely to miss out on at least the next few matches while he recovers. Regarding Moeen Ali’s absence, coach Stephen Fleming said, “He rolled his ankle, X-rays revealed there was no fracture but there is always a recovery period – maybe seven days. We are hopeful the recovery will be quick given that there is no fracture.”
Notably, CSK already lost their star pacer Deepak Chahar this season to a back injury he sustained ahead of the tournament while New Zealand fast-bowler Adam Milne was ruled out of the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury he suffered during CSK’s first match of the ongoing edition.
