On November 18, Captain Vijayakanth was admitted to the MIOT International Hospital in Chennai due to persistent cough, fever and chills. The hospital management said in a statement last week, "DMD leader Vijayakanth's health is stable. He is expected to return home after a few days of observation." Now, the latest press release from MIOT says that the veteran actor and politician's health is declining.

In the statement, the hospital management stated, "Vijayakanth's health was improving. However, his condition is not stable in the last 24 hours and he needs help with pulmonary treatment. We hope he gets well soon. He needs a further 14 days of treatment and hospital stay." This is now going viral. Fans and the film fraternity wish him a speedy recovery.
