With the Lok Sabha elections approaching, ADMK and BJP have finally struck a deal regarding the seat sharing of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies including the Pondicherry seat. The breakup between ADMK and BJP happens to be 25-15 with the parties agreeing to offer seats to smaller parties from their respective shares.
After the meeting held yesterday between Union finance minister Piyush Goyal and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and Deputy Chief minister O.Panneerselvam, the 15 seats reserved for BJP might be split as 8 to BJP, 4 for PMK and 3 for Vijayakanth's DMDK, while ADMK has to share their 25 seats among Krishnaswamy's Puthiya Thamizhagam, Rangasamy's NRC and Tamil Manila Congress.
The meeting was held at the Alwarpet residence of popular industrialist Pollachi N Mahalingam, and the meeting also had the participation of ministers P Thangamani and SP Velumani. It is expected that another round of meeting will be held to split the seats among smaller parties, and it is expected that an official announcement regarding the alliance will be made sooner by all parties concerned.
