Ganja Karuppu enjoyed a good run as a comedian in many films with Subramaniapuram`, Paruthi Veeran` Nadodigal` and others, but he fell into hard times after producing a film Velmurugan Borewells` which flopped miserably at the box office.

Ganja Karuppu`s stint at Bigg Boss` has turned the tide for him as he has been signed on as one of the heroes in a new film titled Naan Yaar Theriyuma`. Yogi Babu and Powerstar Srinivasan are also playing the parallel leads. The film, directed by Naveenraj is about three men who come to Chennai with the aim of becoming cops and encounter a girl`s ghost who helps them out. It may be recalled that Ganja Karuppu has already played the hero along with Santhanam in Chimbu Devan`s Arai En 305-il Kadavul` produced by Shankar.
