Bharathiraja who hails from Theni has a habit of visiting his home town whenever he finds time. Recently he took a flight from Chennai to Madurai to visit Theni, but his health suddenly deteriorated at the airport premises.

Bharathiraja yesterday took a flight from Chennai to Madurai to reach his native place. But the 79-year-old actor-director reportedly fainted at the Madurai airport, and he was admitted to the nearby hospital. However, the legendary star is healthy and it was reported that he fainted due to his busy schedule and travel pressure.

Bharathiraja is one of the most famous directors in the Tamil cinema industry, and he has delivered multiple blockbuster hits with many stars. He has also introduced several talented stars like Raadhika, Nizhalgal Ravi, Manoj, and others.

On the work front, he was last seen in the movie Thiruchitrambalam starring Dhanush in the lead role. The film also had Nithya Menon, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Rashi Khanna in supporting roles.
