Legendary director Bharathiraja who has impressed the Tamil audience with his directorial skills and eating skills for more than five decades has contracted Covid - 19 and the film fraternity is in absolute shock.

We all know the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron is spreading all over India at a high speed and many celebrities confirmed that they have tested Positive for the Corona virus. Recently actor and director Bharathiraja has also contracted the same.

Bharathiraja made his debut in 1977 with 16 Vayathinile, he is known for realistic and sensitive portrayals of rural life in his films. He has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards South, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and a Nandi Award. He has also directed films in Telugu and Hindi.

He was last seen in the film Rocky an action thriller film written and directed by debutant Arun Matheswaran. The film was produced by RA Studios and distributed by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under the Rowdy Pictures banner, the film stared Vasanth Ravi, Bharathiraja and Raveena Ravi in the lead roles, and the music is composed by Darbuka Siva.
