Ashok Selvan is one of the actors among the younger generation in Tamil cinema who has tasted success with his films. He started his career as a teenage boy playing the younger version of Ajith in 'Billa 2' and later debuted as a parallel lead in Vijay Sethupathi's 'Soodhu Kavvum' directed by Nalan Kumaraswamy. He has received both critical acclaim ad box office succes with several films including 'Thegidi', 'Oh My Kadavule' , 'Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal', 'Manmadha Leelai' and 'Nitham Oru Vaanam'.

On the personal front Ashok Selvan was rumoured to be in a relationship with a USA based singer after their pics together went viral. But both maintained that they were good friends and nothing more to it.

Now there is a buzz in Kollywood circles that Ashok Selvan is in love with the daughter of a famous actor-producer in Tamil cinema. It is said that both the families approve of the match and are discussing about a possible wedding date which will be announced officially after it is finalized.

On the professional side Ashok Selvan's upcoming films include 'Nenjamellam Kadhal' directed by Balaji Kesavan and an untitled film produced by Pa Ranjith under his banner Neelam Productions.
