Actor Arun Vijay had scored a blockbuster this year with Thadam directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The movie had him playing dual roles for the first time in his career, and turned out to be a success story despite releasing along with multiple movies.

Following the success of the movie, Arun Vijay had signed to star in the movie Mafia Chapter 1 directed by young director Karthick Naren who had debuted with Dhuruvangal 16 and had also finished the Arvind Swami starrer Naragasooran.

Mafia had begun shooting in early July, and yesterday the team made an official announcement that the movie's shoot has been wrapped. Produced by Lyca Productions, Mafia has Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the female lead and Prasanna as the villain, and the movie is expected to release in December.
