Aranya, V to face two different headaches?

Rana Daggubati's multi-lingual outing 'Aranya' is scheduled to release on April 2. The jungle adventure drama might face release issues if some early trends are anything to go by.

The film's headache has to do with the fact that Kollywood distributors are thinking of imposing a shut-down of all theatres in Tamil Nadu if their demand for the abolition of local body tax on Tamil-language films is not withdrawn by authorities by the end of this month. The shut-down will be decided at a meeting to be held soon. It is safe to assume that the strike will go on for at least a week. Usually, issues like this are protracted and strikes by stakeholders are indefinite.

If the Tamil version is postponed, the other versions will follow suit.

As for 'V', starring Nani and Sudheer Babu, the film might face Corona-related issues. As per a media report, the film's distributor in the US has urged producer Dil Raju to call off the release of the film on March 25 in view of the Corona threat in the US. While the scare is not there in the Telugu States, 'V' might have to be postponed if the crucial US market is not ready for it.

Clarity regarding the issue will emerge soon.
