Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija tied the knot with audio engineer Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed in an intimate ceremony on Thursday. The iconic composer has also shared a 12-minute video from the wedding reception on his Instagram handle.

“Khatija and Riaz's reception,” he captioned the post, which featured the duo - Khatija in a lovely maroon outfit and Riyasdeen in a navy blue sherwani - greeting their guests. Sharing a family picture from the wedding ceremony of his daughter, AR Rahman had earlier posted, “May the Almighty bless the couple .. thanking you in advance for your good wishes and love.” Several celebrities, including singers Shreya Ghoshal and Neeti Mohan, congratulated the couple on their special day.

Khatija, who is a singer-musician herself, announced the news of her engagement with sound engineer Riyasdeen on December 29 last year. “With the blessings of the Almighty I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on 29th December, my birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones,” she wrote.
