Anupama Parameswaran’s ‘Paradha’ Turns Out to Be a Major Box Office Dud

Anupama Parameswaran had placed huge expectations on Paradha, calling it the finest film of her career and her best performance so far. But once the film released last weekend, the box office told a completely different story.

From day one, theaters witnessed a shockingly poor turnout, with trade circles reporting almost empty halls across the board. Negative word of mouth after the premiere shows sealed the film’s fate, leaving no chance for improvement over the weekend.

Director Praveen Kandregula, who earlier managed a modest start with Subham, faced outright rejection this time as Paradha failed to connect with audiences from the very first show.

What makes this outcome even more surprising is Anupama’s recent track record. After delivering blockbusters like Kartikeya 2 and Tillu Square, expectations were high. However, the weak storyline and dull narration proved to be the biggest drawback, with even critics pointing out that the premise itself was unconvincing.

As a result, Paradha ended its run within the first week itself, becoming yet another non-starter at the box office.

Meanwhile, other recent releases have also struggled. Rajinikanth’s Coolie failed to sustain momentum into its second weekend, and the much-hyped War 2 featuring NTR and Hrithik Roshan also turned out to be a massive disappointment.
