Akhanda 2 Is Off to a Blockbuster Start, Say Makers Amid Strong Box Office Momentum

Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu’s Akhanda 2: The Thandavam released worldwide on December 12 and is running with packed shows. Produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri, the film registered tremendous response from its premiere screenings. The team held grand success celebrations to mark the strong opening.

Gopi Achanta: “One-week delay, but the audience made it worth the wait”

Producer Gopi Achanta expressed gratitude to fans and addressed the week-long delay in release. He thanked Mango Media’s Ram and Dil Raju for helping resolve the issue and said the team sincerely apologizes to Balakrishna, director Boyapati Sreenu, and fans for the postponement.

He added that the premieres received overwhelming response. “At Bramarambha, fans didn’t even sit. They stood, cheered, and filled the theatre with whistles. Collections and reports from all regions are excellent. The film released in nearly 800 screens in North India through Zee Cinemas and audiences there are enjoying it thoroughly. Word of mouth is terrific, and tickets are selling fast,” he said. The team plans to conduct success celebrations across both Telugu states.

Ram Achanta: “Premieres set the tone with record numbers”

Producer Ram Achanta said the premieres alone grossed Rs. 10 crore in Nizam, Ceeded, and Andhra combined, while Karnataka contributed nearly Rs. 1 crore. He noted that Akhanda 2 has become the fifth non-Kannada film to collect Rs. 1 crore from premieres in Karnataka.

“Bookings are extremely strong. Distributors are giving outstanding reports, and with families joining from Friday evening, this weekend is expected to deliver exceptional numbers. Overseas response is excellent, and weekend shows are filling fast. The ground report is superb, and Balakrishna’s fans are thrilled,” he added.

With massive opening collections and strong word of mouth, Akhanda 2: The Thandavam is set for a powerful run through the weekend.
