Since October 2023, Ajith Kumar has been filming "Vidaamuyarchi", directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The production team is reported to have wrapped up the talkie portions, with only a song and some patchwork remaining to be shot. However, sources now indicate that the movie may not make its initially planned Diwali 2024 release date.
"Vidaamuyarchi" was originally slated for a Diwali 2024 release, but recent trade reports suggest that the filmmakers are considering a new release date, either November 14th or December 20th, to accommodate extensive post-production work. This decision could shift the film out of the crowded Diwali lineup, which already includes Sivakarthikeyan's "Amaran" and Jayam Ravi's "Brother", both confirmed for a Diwali release.
The film stars Ajith Kumar, Trisha, Arjun, Aarav, Regina Cassandra, and Nikhil Nair, among others. Produced by Lyca Productions, this road action thriller features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Om Prakash, and editing by NB Srikanth. As per reports, "Vidaamuyarchi" may be an adaptation of the 1997 Hollywood film "Breakdown".
