Director Magizh Thirumeni on Ajith Kumar’s Commitment to Women’s Safety and Vidaamuyarchi

Ajith’s latest film, “Vidaamuyarchi,” was released on February 6 and earned ?26 crore on its first day in Tamil Nadu. However, due to mixed reviews, the following days’ earnings did not meet expectations.

In a statement, Magizh Thirumeni expressed gratitude to Ajith for trusting him. He mentioned that Ajith always wanted to act in a film that respects women. Lyca Productions also supported the theme, even though it features major commercial actors.

Ajith has played diverse roles throughout his career. From an antagonist in “Vaali” to a dream-chasing youngster in “Mugavari” and taking risks with films like “Nerkonda Paarvai” after delivering a mass hit like “Viswasam.”

Violence against women is a topic that deeply impacts Ajith. Hence, the team ensured “Vidaamuyarchi” delivered a strong message on this issue. However, the director was concerned that fans expect commercial elements in his films.

Ajith reassured him by stating that his character, Arjun, is a middle-class man who resorts to violence only as a last option. He believed his fans would accept a film with the right message. Magizh Thirumeni was pleased to see this belief validated after the film’s release.

The director expressed happiness over the positive response from audiences, theater owners, critics, and industry insiders. “Vidaamuyarchi” was produced by Lyca Productions and features Ajith, Arjun, Trisha, Regina, and Aarav. Anirudh composed the music, while Om Prakash handled cinematography.
