Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has approached the Delhi High Court seeking urgent action against the misuse of her name, image, and likeness in AI-generated pornographic and deepfake content.
The actor’s petition urged the court to restrain online platforms from circulating such material and from unauthorisedly using her personality traits for commercial gain. The bench indicated that an ad-interim order would be issued to warn defendants against using her name, voice, or likeness without consent. Further directions will follow to take down URLs violating her rights.
Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, representing Aishwarya, told the court that “unreal intimate photographs” of the actor were being circulated online. “Her name and image are being used to satisfy someone’s sexual desires. This is very unfortunate,” he said. The plea further stated that deepfake technology was being used to morph her face into sexually explicit videos and images.
The suit has named several defendants, including certain websites and e-commerce platforms that allegedly misuse the actor’s name and photographs without authorisation.
The high court has posted the matter before the joint registrar on November 7, 2025, and will take it up for further proceedings on January 15, 2026.
