Adhik Ravichandran on Directing Father-in-Law Prabhu in ‘Good Bad Ugly’

As Ajith Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly gears up for its grand worldwide release tomorrow, director Adhik Ravichandran has been actively promoting the film through various media interactions. In one such interview, he opened up about a particularly personal aspect of the film—directing veteran actor Prabhu, who also happens to be his father-in-law.
Adhik, who married Prabhu’s daughter Aishwarya in 2023, described the unique experience of working with the iconic actor in a professional setting. Prabhu plays a significant role in Good Bad Ugly, marking a reunion with Ajith after their earlier collaboration in Aasal.
Speaking about the experience, Adhik said, “Prabhu sir is extremely sweet—so kind and innocent. I’ve admired him since I was young. When I was directing his scenes, I genuinely forgot that he’s my father-in-law. He brought so much grace and energy to the role, and it was heartwarming to see him share the screen with Ajith sir again after so many years.”
He also added with a smile, “I still don’t know how he accepted me as his son-in-law. When I got married, Mark Antony hadn’t even released yet! Not just Prabhu sir, but aunty and Vikram Prabhu have also been incredibly warm and supportive.”
