Actress Sona has directed a web series titled ‘Smoke’ based on her life story. This series is set to release on an OTT platform. Earlier, she mentioned facing severe warnings and humiliation regarding the series.
Recently, Sona staged a protest in front of the South Indian Film Workers Association (FEFSI) office, claiming that her web series’ hard disks were taken by her manager, Shankar.
Speaking about the issue, she said, “I have been in the film industry for 25 years, but I have not been allowed to work for the past 10 years. After signing a contract with an OTT platform and starting the ‘Smoke’ web series, troubles began.”
Sona alleged that her manager, Shankar, took five days’ worth of salaries meant for the crew but never paid them. Later, he gave two hard disks containing important web series footage to the camera unit and disappeared.
She filed complaints with FEFSI and the Managers’ Union, but they only acknowledged the fraud without taking any action. “Despite knowing he deceived me, everyone is supporting him. I don’t know what else to do, so I decided to protest at the FEFSI office,” she stated.
