Actress Laila made her debut in Tamil in a special appearance in Shankar's 'Mudhalvan' starring Arjun and Manisha Koirala. She then went on to star with several top heroes including Karthick's 'Rojavanam', Ajith's 'Dheena' and 'Paramasivan', Suriya's 'Nandhaa', 'Pitha Magan', 'Unnai Ninaithu' and 'Mounam Pesiyathey' and Vikram's 'Dhill'.

Laila's last appearanc in Tamil was a cameo in Ajith's 'Thirupathi' directed by Perarasu after which she married her long time lover Mehdin an Iranian businessman. The couple have two sons aged twelve and nine.After sixteen years Laila is making a comeback to Tamil films and its in Karthi's new movie 'Sardar' that has Raashi Khanna and Rajisha Vijayan as the female leads.

The film is directed by P.S.Mithran and produced by Prince Pictures with G. V. Prakash Kumar scoring the music and George C Williams handling the camera. The team confirmed on social media the actress's presence in a beach shoot. Muniskanth, Murli Sharma and Chunkey Pandey are the other stars in the film that is progressing at a brisk pace.
