Actresses and models generally enjoy good friendships but in one such case, it has become a major problem for both which has ended up in a court case. Koena Mitra had reportedly borrowed 22 Lakhs rupees in various periods of time from model Poonam Sethi but failed to pay the sum. The 35-year-old actress has appeared in the Suriya starrer 'Ayan' and Ajith's 'Asal' apart from Vikram's 'Dhool' as well.

After several failed attempts to get back the money Poonam Sethi went to court in 2013 and the court-ordered Koena to pay rupees three lakhs but the cheque that she gave bounced. The case came up for hearing on July 6th and the actress's lawyer tried to argue that Poonam a small time model did not have the capacity to lend such a big amount.

But the court after hearing the cast has observed "Merely because she (Sethi) did not enter into any service contract with production houses for modeling or in 2012-13 she was doing 'small type' of modeling as compared to the accused, who was allegedly a well-known film artist even prior to 2012-13, will not affect the capacity of Poonam to advance such friendly loan to the accused,". The court has given six-month jail to Koena and compensation of rupees 4.64 lakhs failing which she has to undergo another three months imprisonment.
