Is Marina a burial ground ? - Kasthuri clarifies her statement

The passing away of former chief minister Kalaigniar Karunanidhi led to high drama as the ruling party refused to allot space to bury him at the Marina beach beside his mentor Anna Durai. However the DMK went to the supreme court which directed that the senior Dravidian leader find his resting place among other celebrated rivals of his time MGR and Jayalalitha.

The internet was abuzz with the news that actress Kasthuri questioned whether the Marina is a burial ground and that Karunanidhi should not have been allowed to be rested there. We caught up with her in the US and Kasthuri has clarified that the media to which she spoke asked her a leading question and though she was shocked and answered against it they put it on their thumb nail as if she said it and caused severe backlash.

Kasthuri has stated that she is an ardent fan of Karunanidhi and in fact learnt Tamil from his Kuraloviyam and acting from watching his 'Parasakthi' and 'Palaivana Rojakkal'. There are much more in the video interview below on Kasthuri about Kalaigniar and politics in general.
