Malayalam starlet Aswathy Babu (aged 22), who has done several films and has been a TV actress as well, was arrested on Sunday in Kochi. She is suspected to have been in possession of illegal drugs. In monetary terms, the drugs she has possessed runs into several lakh rupees worth, the police have said. Her driver Binoy Abraham too is in police custody.
About 58 grams of MDMA, a party drug, has been seized from her residence. They were waiting for a client when the police turned up to shock them.
The police have said that the driver has helped the actress buy drugs from Bengaluru.
