The second wave of COVID 19 that is continuing to spread alarmingly in Tamil Nadu has forced the government to declare a total lockdown from today May 10th. The death toll is also sadly on the rise and as far as Kollywood is concerned almost on a day to day basis celebrities are succumbing to the virus as well.
Veteran comedy actor Joker Thulasi who was infected by the coronavirus and was under treatment has passed away. He started his acting career on stage and was the lead actor of the popular "Kanmani' drama troupe. in 1976, he made his debut on the big screen in the Sivakumar-Sujatha starter 'Ungalil Oruthi' directed by Devaraj Mohan and has starred in several other movies in the past four decades.
Joker Thulasi was especially noticed in the Ramki starrer 'Marudhu Pandi' and Sathyaraj's 'Thirumathi Pazhaniswamy' directed by Devaraj Mohan. Later he also made his mark in many television serials, including 'Kolangal' and 'Vani Rani'
Radhika Sarathkumar has posted her tribute on social media writing "Very saddened to hear of the passing of Joker Thulasi, a very wonderful person , has been in theatre &movies for many decades. Sends me messages everyday with positive thoughts. Share working memories of him in #vaanirani , will miss his childlike enthusiasm ."
