Tamil Nadu government had announced earlier that there will be public exams for 5th and 8th standard from this year. However there were protests and opposition from parents against this, and yesterday, TN minister for school education Sengottayan announced the cancellation of 5th and 8th public exams.

Actor Suriya had expressed his happiness about this announcement with a tweet, and now actor Dhanush has also tweeted about this announcement. Dhanush welcomed the announcement and said that this will relieve students from stress and give happiness to parents and establish social equality.

Dhanush who had last acted in Pattas is now acting in Karnan directed by Mari Selvaraj, and will be completing Karthik Subbaraj's D40 soon. The actor also recently signed D43 directed by Karthick Naren and produced by Sathyajyothi films which will be released in October.
