Sudha Kongara who won the National Award for the Best Screenplay of 'Soorarai Pottru' is one of the most sought after filmmakers in the country. She is currently directing the Hindi remake of the acclaimed film with Akshay Kumar in the lead role played by Suriya in the original for which he received the Best Actor National Award.

Sudha had already stated that she will be reuniting with Suriya for a mega project that will go on floors next year. Meanwhile a few months back Hombale Films of 'KGF' and 'KGF2' also signed her for a biggie. It was rumoured that Simbu would be playing the lead in this project but news coming in now suggests something very different.

According to souces the Sudha Kongara-Hombale Films project is going to be a female centric one and talks are on with Keerthy Suresh to play the main lead. The bubbly actress last seen in the critically acclaimed 'Saani Kaayidham' is also a Best Actress National Award winner for 'Mahanati/Nadigaiyar Thilagam'.

It is said that Sudha will be the creative director of the as yet untitled project while her daughters will be the executive producers and the shooting is set to commence soon. The rest of the cast and crew details will be revealed in the coming days. Stay tuned.
