Cricket is definitely a special game for fans who have done all kinds of things to catch matches. Now a new incident has found a spot on this list. New Zealand fans managed to delay a flight in order to catch the last two overs of a nail-biting game that took place on Saturday. After Carlos Brathwaite hit 25 runs in the 48th over, West Indies only needed 8 runs from the last two overs. The catch however was that they only had one wicket in hand. Imagine at this time you find out that you have to switch off your phone to let the plane depart. The passengers had all boarded the flight which was ready to take off. They did it not let the plane take to the air however as they unitedly voiced their need to watch the last few balls on live stream. Any cricket lover will be able to empathize with and imagine this incredible situation.

Looks like the pilot was a cricket fan himself because he agreed to wait till the match was over. Only after the game was completed and the Kiwis won did the flight take off amidst gleeful cheers. Kieran McAnulty, a Member of Parliament from the country, shared the experience on Twitter saying: “My @FlyAirNZ flight was fully boarded, the plane loud from all the live streams. 12 balls left, 1 wicket needed. Please don’t start the plane. The @BLACKCAPS win! We all erupt in unison. Only then, amongst the cheers, did the plane start to move. It was a beautiful moment. #CWC19.”
