During the event, admission letters for the academic session 2024-2025 were distributed to newly admitted students enrolled in various Future Ready Programmes at VIT Bhopal under this prestigious scheme.
The Support the Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) scheme was launched in 2019 by Founder and Chancellor Dr G. Since its inception, VIT Bhopal University has admitted district toppers (one Boy, one Girl) from each district of Madhya Pradesh who graduated from government schools in the state.
Under this scheme, admitted students receive 100% free education along with lodging and food facilities. During the event, Assistant Vice President of VIT, Ms Kadhambari S. Viswanathan, addressed the gathering, stating, "For children in rural villages of Madhya Pradesh who grow up in difficult circumstances, VIT Bhopal has become more than a place of academic instruction. It is a home away from home where they feel safe and happy, surrounded by caring professors and proctors who not only provide them with education and skills for the future but also serve as their emotional pillars. You are our Brand Ambassadors; you are welcome to be a part of this global university."
She emphasized that through the STARS scheme, VIT Bhopal is contributing to the realization of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh. She noted that in the coming years, these graduates will transform the landscape of rural Madhya Pradesh and participate in its economic reform. She highlighted that under the STARS scheme, a total of 175 students (100 boys and 75 girls) from rural Madhya Pradesh have benefitted so far.
