Last year, elections were held for the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) but the results were kept on hold after conflicts between Vishal’s Pandavar Ani and the opposite team headed by Isari Ganesh over malpractices in conducting the election.
Following this, the TN government had appointed a special officer to handle the activities of the council and conduct the election. Later an appeal was made against this decision, and the court rejected the case and announced the election date as April 30, but due to Coronavirus pandemic, the date has been pushed by the court to September 30.
Currently the teams contesting TFPC elections include a team headed by T Siva of Amma creations, Thenappan, JSK Satish Kumar, RK Suresh, Dhananjayan, Radha Ravi, and Manobala and another team under Rama Narayanan Murali with Subash Chandra Bose and Michael Rayappan as part of the team. The latest rumour making the rounds is that actor Vishal might also contest the upcoming elections in September with the same team with which he contested last year elections.
