Nithiin’s Alias Rukmini Gets Release Date: Middle-Class Avatar Creates Curiosity

Nithiin is all set to surprise audiences with a different kind of role in his upcoming film Alias Rukmini, which has officially locked December 4, 2026, for its worldwide theatrical release. The makers unveiled a new release date poster featuring the actor in a middle-class avatar, adding to the curiosity surrounding this unusual family entertainer.

The film is being produced by Natural Star Nani’s Unanimous Productions, which earned recognition following the blockbuster success of COURT – State Vs A Nobody. Directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth, known for Dhandora, and produced by Deepthi Ganta, Alias Rukmini promises a refreshing storyline with a mix of humour, romance and emotional elements.

In the newly released poster, Nithiin appears as an ordinary middle-class man named Krishna. Wearing a checked shirt, formal trousers and spectacles, he carries a shoulder bag while standing in a crowded court surrounded by lawyers and police officers. His look is simple, but the setting hints that his character could find himself in an unexpected situation. The mysterious silhouette of the female lead adds another layer of intrigue.

The story revolves around Krishna, who leads a seemingly peaceful life until love brings an unexpected secret into the picture. What follows threatens to change everything he believes in. With its focus on love, hidden truths and society’s perceptions, the film appears to explore an unusual subject through an entertaining narrative.

The announcement glimpse previously released by the makers received an encouraging response, particularly for its quirky humour and distinctive concept. Nithiin’s characterisation is expected to be one of the film’s major highlights, with audiences eager to discover what makes Krishna’s story different.

Alias Rukmini is nearing the finish line, with only one more shooting schedule remaining. Post-production work is also progressing alongside filming, indicating that the team is working towards completing the project ahead of its release.

The makers are preparing to begin the next phase of promotions, with the first single expected to be released soon. The song is likely to offer a fresh glimpse into the film and build anticipation ahead of its theatrical arrival.

Jomon T. John ISC is handling the cinematography, while Vijai Bulganin is composing the music. Avinash Kolla is responsible for production design, and Srujana Adusumilli is overseeing the editing.

With an intriguing premise, Nithiin’s unexpected middle-class look and Nani’s production backing, Alias Rukmini is shaping up to be an interesting addition to the December release calendar. The film will hit theatres worldwide on December 4, 2026.
