"A war takes many lives. But the same war gave me life," says Sai Pallavi's Vennela in the trailer of 'Virata Parvam'. To be released in theatres on June 17, this Venu Udugula-directed epic love story is inspired from true incidents that took place in 1990s.
Rana Daggubati's Ravanna believes that love is a bourgeoise construct that is meant to cheat people. On the other hand, Vennela is overtaken by feelings of love after reading Ravanna's book of poems. She goes in search of him into the forest, becomes a Maoist, and later fights a battle with the system in association with him. Will they have ever-lasting peace.
A character says that peace is not found through war but in a girl's love. Naveen Chandra talks of the 'boodletting' involved in giving birth.
Naveen Chandra, Nandita Das, Zarina Wahab, Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, and Eswari Rao are part of the cast. Produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, the film has been enriched by Hollywood stunt director Stefan Richard and Peter Hein. Dani Sanchez-Lopez, a Hollywood technician, has handled the camera work along with Divakar Mani.
