A thanks giving meet to the press for supporting 'Merku Thodarchi Malai' was held in Chennai.  The producer of the film Vijay Sethupathi went emotional while speaking stating that he is very happy about how the film has been received and has conceded that even his perception of the film changed after reading the reviews.  The outspoken Makkal Selvan stated that the reason he agreed to produce the film was that Lenin Bharathi treated him with humanity and kindness when he was a junior artiste.  He also revealed that he has not earned a single rupee from the film and has told the director that whatever revenue comes can be used for the promotional activities.  The desire for most film lovers is that the shows should be increased and such a celebrated film should be seen by more patrons.
