Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has been performing exceedingly well in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and the cricketer recently scored 151 runs and also took two wickets to help Madhya Pradesh beat Chandigarh by five runs in a Group D match in Rajkot on Sunday.

Celebrating his century, the young player paid tribute to Superstar Rajinikanth on his birthday by imitating his iconic salute and also the stylish manner in which he wears his shades. Venkatesh Iyer has previously talked about being a huge fan of Rajinikanth and also mentioned how he could watched the star’s movies countless times. “A Thalaivar devotee. I can watch his movies ‘n’ number of times. He’s a legend,” he had said while speaking to ESPN Cricinfo a couple of months ago following his success in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Venkatesh Iyer played a key role in helping his team KKR reach the playoffs after he scored a total of 370 runs at an average in excess of 40. Acknowledging the cricketer’s gesture, Rajinikanth had included Venkatesh’s name while expressing his gratitude towards those who wished him on his special day.
