Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' which released on January 11th powered by his star power has emerged the Pongal 2023 winner worldwide. The success is more sweeter since the film weathered mixed reviews as well as stiff competition from Ajith Kumar-H.Vinoth combo's 'Thunivu'. Dil Raju's production house Sri Venkateswara Creations has already announced that the family film directed by Vamshi Paidipally has collected more than Rs.210 crores and counting.

'Vaarasudu' the Telugu version of 'Varisu' which released three days later on January 14th has also been well received in the AP and Telangana regions. The film crew celebrated the success of both the versions in Hyderabad with Thalapathy Vijay in attendance.

Photos of the happy 'Varisu' team cutting cakes and feeding each other have gone viral. hile there are reports that Vijay has attended the ceremony, Thaman, the music director of the film who has made a terrific comeback to Tamil cinema with it shared a pic with Vijay and writer Vivek. Fans are even more excited to see Vijay in a new getup which is apparently for his next much anticipated 'Thalapathy 67' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He is sporting a long hair and a greying full beard. The sensational flick reportedly has Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Manzoor Ali Khan, GVM, Mysskin and others. A few portions have already been shot and the next schedules are planned in Kodaikanal, Kashmir and AP and Telangana.

'Varisu/Vaarsudu' has Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead pair supported by Jayasudha, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shaam, Sangeetha, S.J. Suryah and Yogi Babu.
