Director Shankar had signed Vadivelu for a hefty sum to star in his production venture 'Imsai Arasan 24 Aam Pulikesi' directed by Chimbu Devan who also helmed the original 'Imsai Arasan 23 Aam Pulikesi'.  The shooting which started in mid 2017 was stopped abruptly due to differences that arose between Vadivelu and the team due to the dismissal of his private costumer by S Pictures.  Read : Shankar's complaint against Vadivelu - details

There were reports in the morning dailies that Vadivelu had sent a reply letter to Nadigar Sangam in which he had explained that he gave bulk dates to 'Imsai Arasan 24 Aam Pulukesi on June 1, 2016 with an agreement that the film will be completed by December 2016.  However the shooting did not start as planned and keeping in mind the producer he had given further dates but once his costumer was dismissed he walked away from the film.  Vadivelu has stated in the letter that he does not intend to continue with the project.

The S Pictures camp has clarified that the letter from Vadivelu had been sent before the industry strike and has popped up in the media now after a month.  The talks with Vadivelu would continue once the Kollywood strike ends and only then a solution would be found.
