After writing an 18-page long suicide note addressed to PM Narendra Modi, a 16-year-old shot herself to death on the eve of Independence Day.

The incident has been reported from Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district where a class 10 girl took her own life after writing a detailed note addressed to PM Modi, where she expressed her concern over rising pollution in the country, corruption, and deforestation, among several other issues plaguing the nation. She also mentioned that she had always wanted to meet the PM in person and discuss the social issues with him. "I don't want to live anymore in a place where children send their parents to old age homes," the teenager had begun her letter, requesting Modi to curb the growing population and implement ban on firecrackers during Diwali and chemical-based colours on Holi. The girl's family has vowed to honour her last request and make sure the note reaches the PM. "The suicide note is my daughter’s last wish. We want that the letter must reach the PM," the girl's father said.

"The girl had committed suicide on the night of August 14 by shooting herself. The revolver was recovered by police and her body was sent for a post-mortem examination. A probe was also launched. On Tuesday, an 18-page suicide note was found in her notebook at her home. Her parents told us that she was getting psychological treatment with a doctor for quite some time," a police officer reportedly stated.
