Kota Srinivasa Rao is hurt by the flush of rumours doing the rounds on social media about his 'demise'. On Tuesday, a few YouTube channels successfully fooled thousands, including the police department, that Kota was no more.
"It has come to my notice that they have declared me dead. Ten cops arrived at my residence to provide security for important persons who will be turning up. I urged them to do something to ensure that fake death news are averted in the future," Kota today said.
While Kota is looking physically frail, he is able to attend work and shoots. Most recently, he was seen in Upendra's 'Kabzaa' in a cameo.
Kota is known for his outspokenness. In an exclusive chit-chat with IndiaGlitz last year, he observed that bombastic claims about big-budget movies are tiring. "In old times, producers wouldn't talk about the precise budget figures. These days, they boast a lot about the budget of every other big-scale movie. They claim that each shot cost them Rs 1 crore, so on and so forth," Kota said. He noted, "If a film is good, people are going to watch it regardless of who is its hero. Didn't people watch 'Akhanda' (2021)? Don't people watch the movies of Mahesh Babu, Bunny and Jr NTR? The audience member wants entertainment and nothing else. He or she wants a bang for the buck he invests in buying a ticket."
