A couple of days back actor Silambarasan announced his decision to withdraw his membership from the Nadigar Sangam alleging that the Sangam failed to support him during the Beep Song` controversy. In reaction to this, Vishal, the General Secretary of Nadigar Sangam had said that the top office-bearers of Sangam contacted SIlambarasan`s side to offer their support but they refused stating that they will face the issue legally.

Now Silambarasan`s father and the multi-talented film personality T.Rajendhar has sent a detailed press statement regarding the matter. Here we bring you some important points translated from Tamil to English.

"Yes it is true that Vishal, Nasser and Karthi approached me offering their support in Beep song issue and I said we will face the issue legally. As said, we are facing the Cases in the Court room. My son is not responsible for the release of the Beep song and someone has stolen it and leaked online. We are trying to establish this fact in the eyes of law. Without knowing this Vishal asked Silambarasan to apologize. Why should someone apologize for a mistake not committed by him. The association should either support its aggrieved member or stay away. I request, Mr.Vishal to not do the same thing to other members of the Nadigar Sangam when they face similar problems.

After my son`s announcement many senior actors and stars have been calling him and me, asking to reconsider his decision. I wholeheartedly thank those well-wishers.

I also want to convey an important point. Be it SImbu or any other member. They should not just see the team, which has won the elections. Simbu should think about the members who had voted for him in the elections. He should also think about Nasser, who came forward to apologize on behalf of my son. Such a good hearted man is the President of the Sangam.

I request Simbu to reconsider his decision of withdrawing his Nadigar Sangam membership. I also appreciate the fact that as an individual he may have his own principles and sense of self respect. "
