Tirupati temple closes down due to coronavirus pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic is holding the entire globe to ransom with over two lakh people infected and the death toll crossing eight thousand and counting as of March 19th.  The Indian central and state governments have taken precautionary steps to curb the spread and social distancing has been advised widely with schools, colleges, theme parks, malls, shopping centers and movie theaters downing their shutters.

The Tirupati temple has announced that it will close down from this evening and will remain so until further notice.  The management of the world’s highest-earning religious place of worship has millions visiting every day and most of them have been disappointed that they cannot worship their Lord Venkatachalapathy in spite of the COVID 19 scare.
