Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol Thirumavalavan has cautioned DMK’s working president M.K. Stalin to be wary of the BJP’s tactics.
Speaking to newsmen in Mayiladuthurai, Thirumavalavan was asked to comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unscheduled visit to Gopalapuram, Chennai to call on the ailing DMK president during his visit to Chennai last week.
“I’m not sure what made Modi make an unscheduled visit to Gopalapuram to meet DMK president Karunanidhi. I only want Stalin, the working president of the DMK, to be cautious and wary of Modi’s friendly overtures,” he said.
“Modi’s meeting with Karuannidhi might have been aimed at creating confusion in the DMK-Congress alliance which has taken roots over the past man years. The BJP is making a determined bit to make its presence felt in the State. Its main objective appears to be to finish off the Dravidian parties; as such, we have to be wary of and cautious about the BJP’s activities,” he opined.
On another note, Thiruma said that the VCK’s growth for the past few years has been quite satisfying. “The party is slowly but steadily becoming a party which would determine the future of the State,” he said.
