'The Fate of the Furious 8' has been estimated to make the biggest worldwide opening collections surpassing the previous best record set by 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' in 2015, according to the official estimate of opening figures released by Universal Pictures, the distributor of the the eight instalment of the 'Fast and the Furious Franchise' .
'Fast 8' has been estimated to collect $532.5 million including the best debut in China that has contributed a whopping $192 million which is the biggest three day opening in China for any film in the history.Previously 'Star Wars:The Force Awakens' had collected $529 million worldwide in its opening weekend. This excluded China as the film released three weeks after its worldwide release.
Simultaneous release in China has resulted in great advantage for the latest instalment of the 'Fast & the Furious' series.
In North America the film has collected $100.2 million from a record number of 4310 theatres and this is the second best after 'Fast and the Furious 7' with $147 million.
The F.Gary Gray directorial starring Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson among a galaxy of stars is also estimated to have registered the biggest overseas opening with $432.2 million eclipsing the previous record set by the 'Jurassic World' with $316.7 million.
