One of the highest critically acclaimed movie in recent times that also had a great run at the box office is undoubted 'Thani Oruvan' directed by Mohan Raja and starring Jayam Rav, Nayanthara and Arvind Swamy in the lead roles. A few months back the director had announced that he is scripting the sequel to his career best film so far.

Mohan Raja has revealed the inspiration for 'Thani Oruvan 2' is his best friend of many years stating " When TO is on Tv again ... happy I'm working on the sequel wit my best friend for 35 years, d man behind my inspiration to highlight a civil service executive .. B.S.Mubarak, Indian Foreign service, Indian Ambassador designate to Guatemala.." (SM post not spell checked) The official announcement for this most awaited film is expected in the early part of 2019.
