The highly anticipated film Thangalaan, starring Chiyaan Vikram and Malavika Mohanan, is set to ignite the big screen on August 15th, 2024, India's Independence Day. The makers have just released the film's second single, "War Song," showcasing Vikram as a fierce tribal leader.
Music composer GV Prakash Kumar shared the single on X, writing, "Feel the fury of our #Thangalaan and his tribe as they march ahead with #ThangalaanWarSong." The song is sung by Sharath Santosh, with lyrics for the Telugu version penned by Chandra Bose.
"War Song" follows the release of the film's first single, "Minikki Minikki," released on July 17th, 2024. This folk-style track celebrates the souls of the characters and features both Vikram and Parvathy Thiruvothu.
Malavika Mohanan, who plays a key role in Thangalaan, recently revealed she felt "intimidated" while shooting action scenes with Vikram. In a Q&A on X, she expressed her awkwardness at not wanting to appear foolish, but highlighted Vikram's comforting presence and her immense respect for the actor.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan is set in the pre-independence period of India. The film revolves around a tribal leader who aids the British Army in excavating gold from their village mines. This action sparks the ire of a powerful sorceress, forcing the tribal leader into a head-on confrontation.
The film's release has been delayed several times, but it's finally set to hit theaters on Independence Day. Thangalaan is expected to clash with other Telugu releases like "Double iSmart" and "Mr Bachchan," despite being a dubbed release in the Telugu states.
With the release of "War Song," anticipation for Thangalaan continues to grow, promising an exciting cinematic experience for audiences nationwide. Chiyaan Vikram is renowned for his intense action entertainers and powerful and impactful performances and movie lovers are waiting eagerly to enjoy Thangaalan on the big screen during Independence Day.
