Earlier, there were strong speculations that the blockbuster maker Atlee will return to Kollywood after Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' to direct Vijay in 'Thalapathy 69'. The same buzz has gotten much stronger now. Sources suggest that Atlee will begin pre-production for Thalapathy 69 by the end of 2023 post the release of Jawan on September 7th.

The Vijay starrer is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and will have music by Anirudh. It is expected to be the biggest film in the actor's career.
