Thalapathy Vijay, who was last seen in the political entertainer Sarkar directed by AR Murugadoss is now acting in his next movie referred as Thalapathy 63, directed by Atlee, in their third collaboration after Theri and Mersal and the movie is produced by AGS Entertainment.

Thalapathy 63 is shooting in various locations of Chennai with giant sets erected, and the movie, while being launched itself was announced as a Diwali release. With both Mersal and Sarkar grossing more than 100 crores and getting shares of close to 70 crores, there has been a huge competition over the distribution rights of Thalapathy 63.

While earlier it was said that KJR Studios which had distributed Thala Ajith's Viswasam this Pongal, was trying to grab the rights, it has been learnt that they are out of the contest now, and currently, popular distribution house Screen Scene which recently released Ayogya, Thadam etc and is producing a number of movies is planning to acquire the theatrical rights for a whopping price. An official announcement can be expected soon.
