Jagapathi Babu, who was recently seen in films like 'Maha Samudram' and 'Hero', is currently doing a handful of films like 'Ghani' and 'Salaar'. In an exclusive chat with IndiaGlitz, Jaggu Bhai has opened up on how Jr NTR has punished him.
"I got to play a really well-written and powerful character in 'Aravindha Sametha'. So much so, Tarak publicly stated that Basi Reddy (Jagapathi's character's name) will be the first to be remembered. Tarak got to play a passive character in the film. He has punished me for that. During the making of the film, he would reprimand me daily. He told me I shouldn't show my face to him for four years. I said okay with a laugh," Jagapathi told, speaking about the playful fight between him and Tarak, his 'Nannaku Prematho' co-star.
Jagapathi was recently seen in 'Peddanna' ('Annaatthe' in Tamil). "I still don't understand why I was picked for 'Annaatthe' despite both of my previous films with Rajinikanth flopped. Both 'Kathanayakudu' and 'Lingaa' didn't click," JB said, adding that the Superstar doesn't care because he is always spiritual. "I notice that he is always seen holding his hand in a 'Mudra' position," JB said.
When asked about speculations that he will enter politics, the senior actor said, "How can I be in politics when I can't handle even four individuals? It's not in me to tell lies. Lies are ubiquitous. Everywhere, there is dishonesty. Untruth is the new truth."
