At the audio launch event of the upcoming Tamil film Retro, actor Suriya gave an emotional speech about his fans. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film stars Suriya and Pooja Hegde in lead roles, along with notable actors like Nassar, Jayaram, Joju George, Swasika, and Karunakaran in key roles.
The audio launch took place on April 18, 2025, in Chennai. Speaking at the event, Suriya began by thanking his fans, saying, “My only strength is your love.”
He expressed gratitude to Pooja Hegde for her performance as Rukmini in the film and reflected emotionally on the film’s throwback theme. He praised co-stars and technicians for their hard work, especially highlighting the dedication of actor Vidhu and Jayaram’s commitment during shoot sessions.
“This film needed teamwork like in a family. I’m happy with the music composed for Retro, especially the logo track combining 2D and Stone Bench productions,” he added.
The movie wrapped its shoot in 82 days, and Suriya said he enjoyed every moment of it. Giving heartfelt thanks to his wife Jyothika, whom he fondly called “my mirror flower,” he said, “Karthik Subbaraj shifted from IT to cinema – such risks make life beautiful.”
Ending his speech, he thanked fans once again and acknowledged their role in all his achievements, including his social initiative, Agaram Foundation.
